Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova commented on the fourth place of Russian Kamila Valieva at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. Her words are given in the Match TV Telegram channel.
The specialist described the unsuccessful performance of the 15-year-old athlete with the phrase “killed, the girl was killed.” She also congratulated another Russian woman, Anna Shcherbakova, on her victory and said that Alexandra Trusova, who took second place, showed the future of figure skating.
Earlier on February 17, Shcherbakova won Olympic gold with a total of 255.95 points. In second place is Trusova, in third is Japanese Kaori Sakamoto. The last speaker, Valieva, fell twice and made several mistakes, scoring 141.93 points. At the same time, she was in the lead after the short program.
Valieva became a participant in a doping scandal during the Beijing Olympics. Her test dated December 25, 2021 tested positive for the banned drug trimetazidine. The World Anti-Doping Agency and the International Olympic Committee sought to remove the figure skater, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport allowed Valieva to participate in the Games.
