The agreement was made between Ministry of Health and the regional governments, to increase the permitted capacity on that date, which is currently at 85 percent in outdoor venues and 75 percent indoors.

The Spanish Minister of Health, Carolina Dariassaid at a press conference that this agreement was adopted in the face of the positive evolution of the pandemic, with an incidence that on this day fell again to 1,060 cases of coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants in the last fourteen days.

Darias explained that despite the increase in capacity, security measures must be maintained at sporting events and prevention of contagion imposed until now in these venues, such as the use of a mask or the prohibition of smoking, eating or drinking.

Although the incidence has shown a downward trend for days in the sixth wave of the pandemic in the country, Spain is still at a very high risk level for this disease, with a high daily number of deaths and infections.

The data published this Wednesday by Health reflects 444 deaths and 37,108 more infections compared to the previous day, which brings deaths from COVID-19 to 97,350 and positive cases to more than 10.7 million in the country since the start of the pandemic. . (D)
