The world tennis number one, Novak Djokovic, will lead the Serbian team in the Davis Cup, whose finals will be played from November 25 to December 5 in Innsbruck (Austria), Turin (Italy) and Madrid, the Federation reported on Monday Tennis Court of Serbia.
Also included in the call are Dusan Lajovic, number 33 of the ranking ATP, Filip Krajinovic (40), Laslo Djere (52) and Miomir Kecmanovic (73).
“We always focus on the Davis Cup with the same passion and with the goal of winning the trophy. In a month we will start the fight for a new ‘salad bowl’ (…) ”, declared the new captain of the Serbian team, Viktor Troicki, who was part of the team that won the competition in 2010.
Serbia is in group F with Germany and Austria, and in the quarterfinals the winner will face the best of group C – France, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom.
In the Davis Cup, 18 teams divided into six groups will face each other, and the final will be played in Madrid on December 5.
The Ecuadorian team will face their counterparts from Spain (November 26) and Russia (November 27) in Group A. (D)
