Russian short track skaters miss the relay bronze at the Beijing Olympics

The Russian men’s short track team finished fourth in the 5000m relay at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.

Semyon Elistratov, Konstantin Ivliev, Pavel Sitnikov and Denis Hayrapetyan played for the Russian team. Canadian athletes were the first to cross the finish line. The representatives of South Korea won the silver medal. The bronze medal was taken by the Italians, who were ahead of the Russians thanks to the photo finish. The judges determined that the Italian team was ahead of the opponent by 0.009 seconds.

The Russian national short track skating team completed their performances at the Beijing Olympics. On account of the women’s team, not a single medal. In men, Ivliev took silver at a distance of 500 meters, and Yelistratov came to the finish line third in the 1500 meters race.

The Beijing Olympics will end on February 20. Athletes compete for 109 sets of awards.
