A cat will appear in the Mariinsky Palace. This news was reported to journalists by Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Boris Piotrovsky.

Boris Piotrovsky said that the day before he had met with Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Alexander Belsky and they discussed, among other things, the question of why the Mariinsky Palace, unlike, for example, the Hermitage, does not have its own cats: in the capital of cat culture, cats in palaces are normal. Belsky agreed. It is not yet known which cat or cat will appear in the Legislative Assembly, perhaps it will be someone from the Republic of Cats on Liteiny, from where tailed guardians were transferred to a number of cultural institutions in the city. In particular, the cat Yasha, who now lives in the Variety Theater.

In St. Petersburg, cats live in museums – in the Hermitage, in the Akhmatova Museum in the Fountain House, in the Museum of the History of St. Petersburg – in the Peter and Paul Fortress, in theaters, libraries of the city.

One of the most famous cats in the world, the Hermitage cat Achilles has long been a sports oracle. According to Boris Piotrovsky, Achilles will take part in the Champions League final in May as an oracle. The Hermitage cat doctor and founder of the Cat Museum and cat cafe “Republic of Cats and Cats” Anna Kondratyeva said that Achilles is also a felinotherapist – she goes to orphanages and hospices to those people who need warmth and care.

Recall that earlier the St. Petersburg deputies proposed to establish Mother-in-Law’s Day.
