The Vuelta Andalucía starts this Wednesday with a great participation

Mikel Landa (Bharain)the Colombian Miguel Ángel López (Astana), the Spanish Carlos Rodríguez (Ineos), and the British Simon Yachts (BikeExchange) and Tao Geoghegan (Ineos) will be the main figures of the 68th edition of the Cycling Tour of Andalusia-Ruta del Solwhich will be held from February 16 to 20 and which was presented this Thursday in Ubrique (Cádiz).

Joaquin Cuevasgeneral director of the Andalusian round, congratulated himself at the event that “it will be the best participation in history with powerful squads and runners with brutal potential”.

What’s more, in the list of participants stand out the Italian Damiano Caruso -second in the 2021 Giro-, who will escort Mikel Landa; the Kazakh Alexey Lutsenko (Astana) -winner on Monday of the Jaén classic-; Julen Amezqueta and Mikel Nieve (Caja Rural) and the Dutch Wilco Kelderman (Bora-Hansgrohe).

The 68th edition, which will start in Ubrique and end in Chiclana de Segura (Jaén)will bring together twelve ‘World Tour’ teams, the highest category in world cycling, and ten ‘Pro Continentals’, with a total of 154 cyclists, seven for each of the twenty-two teams.

The general director of the test also announced the presence of formations such as the Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team, world number one; Ineos Grenadiers, second in the ranking of the International Cycling Union (UCI) or Bahrain Victorius and the UAE Emirates, fourth and fifth, respectively.
