On February 13, the men’s team won gold in the relay at the Beijing Games. The team was represented by Alexey Chervotkin, Alexander Bolshunov, Denis Spitsov and Sergey Ustyugov.
On February 12, Yulia Stupak, Natalya Nepryaeva, Tatyana Sorina and Veronika Stepanova became Olympic relay champions. Thus, for the first time in history, Russian skiers made a golden double at the Games.
The Beijing Olympics will run until February 20. Domestic athletes compete under the auspices of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
