Jehor Macenko is a 20-year-old center-back who joined Legia Warsaw in the summer of 2020. The Ukrainian is a homegrown of Dynamo Kiev, who in the spring of the 2018/19 season trained first with the third league Ursus Warszawa.
According to the portal, Macenko will soon become a player in Śląsk Wrocław. Although the player’s contract expires at the end of June, the club will change now. Silesia has agreed with Legia on the terms of the transfer and this is to be just a formality.
Silesia will gain a Legia player
Wroclaw was not the only club from the league that was interested in Macenka. Warta Poznań, Górnik Zabrze and Jagiellonia Białystok also wanted a Ukrainian. This fight was finally won by Silesia, which has good memories of attracting young players from Legia.
The most recent example is Mateusz Praszelik, who changed Warsaw for Wrocław in the summer of 2020. Although the 22-year-old midfielder played mainly in Legia’s third-league reserves, he was one of the most important players in Silesia. This resulted in a recent transfer to the Italian Hellas of Verona, which paid about two million euros for it. Wroclaw also secured a percentage of the next transfer of the player.
In the current season, Macenko played in eight matches of the Legia reserves. The stopwatch was also entered in the first round of the Champions League qualifying rounds, in which the Polish champions played with the Norwegian Bodo / Glimt. Before the second round, Macenko was withdrawn from the team in favor of Yasur Yakshiboyev.
