This time, in the BO3 series, Wilacy was about to “fight for life”, so there was simply no room for errors. And the rival will again be demanding and, additionally, the iconic one for IEM Katowice. Fnatic stood against the Poles.
A fatal start
Nuke, Inferno and Ancient – these are the maps assigned to the series. It didn’t work out badly for the “White Star”, but Fnatic could not quite be disappointed either.
The fight begins with choosing Wisy. The start is very optimistic – the Poles won the pistol and came out to a slight advantage on the side of the terrorists. However, trouble appeared quickly. When the British-Swedish team got their rifles in their hands, the Wilaki’s good times were over. The rival ruthlessly extinguishes any attempted offensive, and at times even humiliates helpless Poles. Fnatic was leading 11: 4 until the break. Beautiful prospects remained in the minds only, because they were not implemented.
Nothing of the breakthrough happened after the page swap. The pistol round won by Fnatic opened a straight path to complete the map. Polish fans could not have imagined a worse start to the series.
Inferno about life
The prospects for the second in line Inferno were not colorful. Fnatic has always done well on this map, and while Wisa is also not comfortable along the Italian streets, the opening-up Nuke has greatly tempered the initial hopes.
This time it was Fnatic who started off high, quickly scoring the first points. Wilacy, who were in a lot of trouble, risked an unconventional change of pace, which surprised their rival. Suddenly the pressure left “White Star” and she started playing her thing, focusing much more on individual aspects. This inaugurated a small breakthrough, because the Poles managed to make up for the loss, even taking a minor lead before the break.
The pause did not distract the Wilaki, who took the next concrete steps. At some point, the advance over the opponent becomes five points. So it seemed that the Poles would strike a steady rhythm and go for a draw throughout the match. Unfortunately, a rival from such a group can never be deleted. In the 20th round, Wisa spent her time poorly and gave a straight point to Fnatic, which turned out to be the beginning of the end. British-Swedish five felt blood, more and more often surprising and cheering Poles on the step. The difference gradually melted, and finally the “White Star” was left behind. To the very end, she looked only at the back of the opposite formation.

The first day of the tournament, and the farewell is already underway. Wisa lost to Ninjas in Pajamas, and then a match for his existence with Fnatic. The bar turned out to be too high, although it seems that if not for minor mistakes, the Poles would have had a chance. Unfortunately – the next edition of IEM Katowice and another Polish band will not appear in Spodek.
However, three other Poles still remain in the competition. Pawe “dycha” Dycha and Olek “hades” Mikiewicz with ENCE fight to enter the main stage of the tournament, just like OG sniper Mateusz “mantuu” Wilczewski.
