The talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, which will be held in Moscow, will be held at a long table due to precautions against the coronavirus. This was announced today to journalists by the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.

“Yes, there will be the same regime with precautionary measures (…), but this will in no way affect either the nature of the meeting, or its content, or the duration,” RBC quotes a Kremlin representative.

Recall that on February 7, a long table separated French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting in the Kremlin due to the fact that the French leader refused to take a PCR test for coronavirus in Moscow.

And the day before, also at a long table, Putin met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

At the same time, Peskov clarified that Scholz, who had already flown to Moscow, refused PCR testing by Russian doctors.

At the same time, the press secretary indicated that Putin’s negotiations with the German chancellor would be lengthy, and during the meeting it was planned to discuss security guarantees, as well as unprecedented tensions in Europe due to the crisis around Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.

The Kremlin hopes that the talks will be constructive, businesslike and useful.
