Russian skier Veronika Stepanova jokingly reacted to the publication of the Swedish newspaper Expressen, where domestic athletes are accused of using banned ski lubricants. The publication is available on the athlete’s Instagram account.
The 21-year-old skier turned to the publication’s journalist Thomas Pettersson and duplicated the message in English. Stepanova noted that the author of the newspaper seems to have banned C8 fluorine from Russians at the start of the Games in Beijing.
“Would you like to check [наличие] I have a forbidden motor in my panties like Carlson? I promise a much louder headline for your paper!” Stepanova wrote.
Stepanova with the Russian team won the gold of the Beijing Olympics in the relay. The athlete herself went down in history as the youngest Olympic champion. She managed to win the award at the age of 21 years and 39 days.
