The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) visiting panel has issued a statement regarding the revision of the results of the figure skating team tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. It is brought by RIA Novosti.
The CAS said the commission was not asked to look into the legal implications of the Olympic team figure skating tournament β ββit will be dealt with elsewhere.
Earlier on February 14, CAS lifted Valieva’s temporary suspension. The court did not satisfy the appeals of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Skating Union (ISU) in the Valieva case. The Russian figure skater was allowed to participate in the individual tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. The reason was the status of the “protected person” of the athlete and the late notification of a positive doping test.
Valieva’s dubious doping test became known on February 9. In this regard, the IOC has postponed the award ceremony following the results of the team tournament of the Olympics. The Russian team, which included Valieva, became the winner in this type of program.
