Earlier, on February 11, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Skating Union (ISU) had already addressed CAS with similar appeals. The reason was Valieva’s positive result for trimetazidine, which was found in a sample dated December 25. Her case will be considered by a special commission before the start of the individual tournament at the Games.
Valieva’s dubious doping test became known on February 9. In this regard, the IOC has postponed the award ceremony of the Olympic team tournament.
Together with the Russian national team, Valieva won the team tournament of the 2022 Olympics. She must take part in the individual competition, which will start on February 15th.
