Russian figure skating coach Eteri Tutberidze refused to speak to the media amid the news that her student Kamila Valieva’s doping test gave a positive result. It is reported by Championship.com.
The coaching staff held a morning workout, in which Valieva took part. After her graduation, Tutberidze did not stop in the mix zone and discuss the doping scandal.
Earlier on February 11, the International Testing Agency (ITA) officially confirmed that Valieva’s December 25 doping test tested positive for the banned trimetazidine. After that, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decision of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) to lift the temporary suspension from the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing Valieva. Her case must be considered before the start of the individual tournament at the Games.
Together with the Russian national team, Valieva won the team tournament of the 2022 Olympics. She must take part in the individual tournament, which starts on February 15th.
