Lyon opens 2-0, but takes Nice’s comeback in the French Championship

Lyon visited Nice this Sunday and lost 3-2, in a game valid for the 11th round of the French Championship.

Lyon opened the scoring in the first half. Ekambi took advantage of the rebound in the area and scored the first goal of the match, on 35 minutes. In the second half, at 23, Paquetá played for Aouar, who kicked hard and extended the advantage of the visitors.

The hosts reacted at the end of the match. At 36, Attal made a beautiful cut in Boateng and submitted without a chance for goalkeeper Anthony Lopes. At 40, after a review by the VAR, Kadewere committed a serious foul and was sent off, leaving the visitors with only ten players on the field.

Shortly thereafter, Emerson took a pen into the area, fouled and the referee called a penalty. In collecting, Delart did not forgive. At 48, Guessand scored the turning point.

Nice, with a game to play, reached 17 points in the competition and remains in the fight for second place. On the other hand, the defeat hindered Lyon, which is seeking classification for the next edition of the Champions League.

Lyon returns to the field next Saturday, when they host Lens. Nice will face Olympique Marseille this Wednesday.
