The Kremlin said that in a situation with a dubious result of a doping test for Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva, they are guided by the data of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Thus, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the incident, TASS reports.
According to him, in the current circumstances, it is necessary to wait for official explanations and statements from Russian sports officials, and not to believe the information of some sources.
“The scandal broke out not at the Olympics, but around the Olympics. It flared up among those who did not have the proper information. As always, not knowing the essence, everyone began to yell left and right. We will not join the orderly row of screamers, ”said the Kremlin representative and added that he wishes Valieva and all domestic athletes gold medals.

On February 9, the Inside The Games portal reported that the doping test of 15-year-old Valieva was questionable. According to media reports, the test was passed before the start of the Olympics – in December 2021. The sample contained traces of the drug trimetazidine, which is used to prevent angina pectoris.
IOC spokesman Mark Adams declined to comment on this topic and recalled that the committee had delegated the authority for doping tests to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and the International Testing Agency, calling for them to be contacted.
