Coach Eteri Tutberidze reacted to the situation around the dubious doping test of one of her students, Kamila Valieva. It is reported by Sport24.
The specialist admitted in communication with reporters that she does not gossip and did not continue to communicate with the press. Earlier, on February 10, it became known that Valieva would continue to participate in the Beijing Olympics.
Also, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) spoke about the situation with the Russian figure skater. The representative of the organization, Mark Adams, noted that the talk about Valieva’s doping is speculation.
On February 9, the Inside The Games portal reported that the doping test of 15-year-old Valieva was questionable. According to media reports, the test was passed before the Olympics – in December 2021. The sample contained traces of the drug trimetazidine, which is used to prevent angina pectoris.
On February 10, it became known that Valieva went to training on the eve of the competition in women’s singles.
Valieva, together with the Russian team, won gold in the team figure skating tournament at the Olympics. The athlete herself became the best in the short and free programs.
