Betis beat Rayo Vallecano (1-2) this Wednesday at the Vallecas Stadium on Copa del Rey semi-final first leg and took advantage in the tie. The second leg will be played in the first week of March at the Benito Villamarín stadium.
After ten minutes, Iván Balliú starred in a good individual play down the right wing and put a cross into the heart of the area that he finished off with a header Alvaro Garcia (1-0) to overtake Rayo Vallecano.
Betis’ response came in the 25th minute with the goal by Borja Iglesias (1-1); the Verdiblanco team’s striker received a ball at the edge of the area, left with a good maneuver by Fran García and Oscar Valentín, and fired a powerful shot to the right by Stole Dimitrievski that the Macedonian goalkeeper failed to clear.
In the second half, specifically in the 67th minute, the visiting team turned the score around with a great goal by William Carvalho (1-2). The Portuguese player received a ball inside the area, left Catena with a ‘pipe’ and finished off a cross against Dimitrievski.
