The journalist fed the Russian biathlete in quarantine in Beijing

The neighbor of the Russian biathlete Valeria Vasnetsova, who complained about the food in the quarantine hotel in Beijing, fed the athlete. This was stated by the head of the press service of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Sergey Averyanov in his Telegram channel.

According to Averyanov, the Russian woman’s neighbor turned out to be Swiss television journalist Philipp Steckli. He supported Vasnetsova morally and left Swiss chocolate and fruit at her door. Averyanov noted that he did not know how the Swiss received parcels with food, since it was forbidden to send food to the hotel.

“Of course, I thanked him for what he did for our athlete. Philip is still sitting in that covid hotel, in room 726. Thank God, he has no symptoms,” wrote the head of the press service of the RRF.

Vasnetsova complained that she could only eat pasta in the quarantine hotel, since the rest of the food was unfit for consumption. The athlete suffered from hunger and stomach pains. “I cry every day and I want this to end,” she wrote. On January 30, it became known that Vasnetsova passed two positive tests for COVID-19 in Beijing. Evgenia Burtasova flew to China to replace her.

Earlier, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) spoke about the complaints of athletes in isolation due to positive tests for coronavirus. The Olympians complained of a difficult psychological state.
