The Kremlin commented on the information about the doping of the Russian figure skater at the Games

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov urged not to focus on certain sources on Russian figure skaters at the Olympic Games (OI) in Beijing. In his opinion, it is necessary to wait for clarifications from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and official statements from sports officials, TASS reports.

“While we have not heard any official statements, let’s still judge by official statements, as long as these are media sources,” a Kremlin spokesman said, commenting on Inside the Games information about a dubious doping test for one of the Russian skaters.

The Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKR) has not yet commented on the current situation. Press attache of the organization Olga Yermolina explained that the organization does not have additional information and only knows what everyone knows about the postponement of the awards ceremony.

Earlier on February 9, Inside the Games reported that a Russian athlete who competed in a team tournament in Beijing had passed a dubious test before the Games. In this regard, the IOC held legal consultations with the International Skating Union (ISU) and postponed the awards ceremony.
