Swedish mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Khamzat Chimaev is having trouble entering the US. It is reported by Sport24.
According to the source, the fighter was unable to enter the United States in January 2022. He was denied entry at the airport due to visa problems.
It is noted that the current situation may lead to problems with Chimaev’s performances in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The promotion runs most of the tournaments in the US.
On January 10, Chimaev asked the head of the UFC, Dana White, to organize two fights for him in one evening. He stressed that he was not joking and was ready to hold several fights in a row.
Chimaev, who is called the New Khabib, has not suffered a single defeat in MMA. He has four wins in the UFC. He got the first three in 66 days, which was a promotion record. This was followed by a break due to complications caused by the coronavirus.
In total, Chimaev has ten victories in ten fights. Prior to joining the UFC, he fought at Brave FC. Chimaev also became the champion of Sweden in freestyle wrestling.
