Two Poles in the game for medals! What information from Beijing. They already know their rivals

The Poles in the qualification of the parallel slalom hit each other. In terms of competition, it did not matter much – 16 competitors with the best times could be promoted to the 1/8 finals. And it seems that the fact that they both compete with each other could only help them.

The journeys of both Micha Nowaczyk and Oskar Kwiatkowski were excellent. They both did very well on both the blue and red routes. And it brought a great effect – Kwiatkowski took 5th place in qualifying, losing less than a second to the fastest Korean Sangho Lee. Micha Nowaczyk was 7th, just over 0.1 seconds behind Kwiatkowski.

Poles already met their rivals in the 1/8 finals. Oskar Kwiatkowski in the second pair will play against Wocha Mirko Felicetti. In turn, Micha Nowaczyk in the sixth pair will compete with Austrian Alexander Payer.

Nowaczyk was already eliminated in the 1/8 finals, when he lost to Austrian Alexander Payer by just 0.09 seconds. Oskar Kwiatkowski, who will win against Felicetti in the knife fight, will do much better, although they both did not avoid a lot of mistakes. At the key moment, however, the Pole, who could be happy to be promoted to the Wierfinau, fared better.

In it, however, he will meet a very well-done Soviet, Tim Mastnak. And the Wierfina will confirm our fears, Kwiatkowski had to chase the rival from the start, which made him make a mistake and go out of the way, ending the competition at the stage of the Wierfina.

In the end, the gold medal was won by Austria’s Benjamin Karl, who was ahead of Tim Mastnak in the final. The bronze medal was won by Russian Victor Wild.
