In a spectacular final, the national filly Mañana beat her rival Otra Realidad by just one head, in the classic run last Sunday at the Miguel Salem Dibo racetrack. The test was in honor of the ABC Deportes program broadcast by Cristal radio.
Tomorrow, who was running on the outside, did not care how muddy the surface was and took a risk with everything to snatch from Otra Realidad a victory that seemed certain in the agreed 1,400 meters, clocking 1 minute, 29 seconds, 08 hundredths.
Impressive, Otra Realidad came out like a fireball until it was eight lengths ahead of Preferida, Ferragamo and Mañana; the rest of the copies could not follow the strong train imposed by the tip.
Otra Realidad seemed to have no threat from anyone, but she did not notice that Mañana, led by Luis Hurtado, was flying outside, and with great audacity she went after Otra Realidad, finding her at the finish line where she surpassed her by a head.
The director of ABC Deportes, Francisco Casquete, presented the trophy to the owners of Mañana, from the Chipipe stud.
Meanwhile, the Marissa stable, owned by Carlos Valarezo, accomplished a feat by winning three races, a day that began with Isabella, who won the 1,100 meters with Josué Mora riding.
Then Azpirezca did it in the second race, with Marcelo Mora in the saddle at 1,100 meters in 1 minute, 07 seconds, 96 hundredths. And Egyptian Princess completed the winning streak in the fourth, with Joffre Mora also in 1,100 meters.
Other winners: El Legado, in the third; Shazaam, in the eighth (both in 1,100 meters). Massimo won the 1,000 meters of the fifth. And Kantor the 1,400 meters of the seventh race of the date. (D)
