Czes³aw Michniewicz will make a shocking appointment? This is one of his favorites

does not waste time. In the first week of work as a coach, he met with the leaders of the national team playing in the leading foreign leagues. The coach has already returned to Poland and focused on observing players who stand out in the league. – We must have a wide range of observations. We will be very closely watching the players playing abroad, but also those from the Polish league. The coach chose a different path, primarily those playing outside Poland. I intend to open up more to our league players, because I know their potential very well – said the coach at the first press conference.

Czesław Michniewicz takes a closer look at Kamil Pestka. He was his favorite in the U-21 squad

Among the candidates to be called up from the Polish league were his old friends from the youth team and Bartosz Slisz, Mateusz Wieteska and Bartosz Kapustka. As he reports, in Sunday’s match – Lech Poznañ Michniewicz intends to observe the Cracovia footballer.

Such a plan may be a bit surprising, but only if you do not know the common past of Michniewicz and Pestka. The 23-year-old defender was one of his favorites in the Polish U-21 team. The then-first league player Brave Głogów played in all EURO U-21 matches and presented himself well, playing against Dodi Lukebakio from Belgium and Federico Chiesa from Italy. Michniewicz preferred to bet on him, at the expense of, among others full-time staff member Paulo Sousa – Tymoteusz Puchacz.

Importantly for the current Polish team coach, Pestka had no problems with the implementation of tactical assumptions. The characteristics of the footballer are also interesting. Pestka is a left-footed footballer who can play both as a left and center defender. He also knows the taste of playing in a system with three defenders. As you know, this site is one of the biggest problems of the Polish staff.

This season, Pestka played 16 matches, in which he scored two assists. Cracovia – Lech Poznań meeting will be held on Sunday, February 6 at 5:30 pm.
