Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, against the backdrop of Moscow’s “threatening” behavior, announced the purchase of the latest weapons from the United States, the Romanian edition of HotNews reports.

We are talking about the purchase of new-generation F-35 fighters, as well as, according to preliminary data, HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, Patriot missile systems and anti-ship missiles, Dialog.UA reports.

“Romania is determined to continue developing its military capabilities,” said Iohannis, who visited the Campia Turzii air base in Transylvania. He did not specify how many fighters would be purchased. It is only known that the contract is planned to be implemented by 2030.

Earlier it became known that the eighth plane with ammunition from the United States arrived in Kiev.

And later, The Washington Post claimed that Russia was finalizing preparations for an “invasion” of Ukraine and could enter Kiev in two days.

Recall that back in November-December last year, the world media was filled with the topic of the alleged Russian invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions that should follow. According to the authors and experts of these publications, a sign of “invasion” is the concentration of Russian military equipment in the regions bordering Ukraine. Among the likely sanctions are both the shutdown of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, as well as restrictions against Russian energy companies, and the shutdown of the SWIFT interbank settlement system.
