Round of the Portuguese Championship is marked by an electrifying derby between Vitória and Braga

This Saturday, the ball rolled in the Portuguese Championship for the first matches of the 21st round. With three games played, the day was marked by draws and an exciting victory in the derby between Vitória and Braga.

Starting Saturday’s games, Marítimo received Estoril in a mid-table duel of the championship. The match ended in a goalless draw, with the expulsion of side Carles Soria, from the visiting team. The home team is in ninth position, while Estoril is in seventh place.

Then, another tie between teams in intermediate classification, this time by 1 to 1. Playing at home, Paços Ferreira took the lead in the 15th minute with an own goal by Lucas Possignolo and kept the victory until stoppage time, when Welinton Júnior tied for the Portimonense. Thus, the hosts took the 12th classification. The visitors, in turn, maintains the eighth place.

An exciting derby between Vitória de Guimarães and Braga closed the day. Vitória, the home team, opened the scoring with 18 minutes of play, with Estupiñan. In the second stage, after three minutes of ball rolling, Vitinha equalized for the visitors.

Vitória had and the expulsion of Alfa Semedo, but managed to maintain the balance of the game and did not concede more goals. The score, however, would still undergo another change. In the 45th minute of the second half, Nélson da Luz broke the tie and guaranteed Vitória’s triumph in an electrifying way.

With the result, the home team takes the sixth place, with 30 points. The rival Braga, on the other hand, is in fourth place and misses the chance to touch Benfica, third place.
