PSG coach, Argentine Mauricio Pochettino, said this Saturday that next week will be “decisive” to find out if both Brazilian Neymar and Spaniard Sergio Ramos manage to recover from their respective injuries in time to face Real Madrid in 10 days.
“The evolution is being favorable, we are happy, but we will see next week, which will be decisive to know what is the percentage of possibilities of being involved in a match like Real Madrid’s”, Pochettino said at a press conference, the day before to play against Lille, in the French League.
The Argentine coach was more concise when referring to Ramos. “With Sergio we also have to see the evolution of his problem and we will see if he is available or not with the group”.
In the medical part of this Saturday, PSG reported that both are still undergoing treatment with only ten days to go before the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Real Madrid.
Ramos, 36, is recovering from a “low severity” injury to his right leg, while Neymar, who is celebrating his 30th birthday today, is recovering from a torn ankle ligament that occurred in November.
“Sergio Ramos worked in the gym and will resume his career work in the middle of next week,” says the PSG medical report, without further detailing. The Spanish international has suffered an ordeal of injuries for more than a year.
“Neymar has received a therapeutic supplement today, which will take him to work in the gym for 48 hours before partially resuming the routine with his teammates,” added the Parisian club, without giving any kind of deadline for his return to The fields. (D)
