Russian skier Natalya Nepryaeva commented on her performance in the skiathlon at the Beijing Olympics. Her words are quoted by the Match TV Telegram channel.
The 26-year-old athlete admitted that she was shocked by the result. Nepryaeva noted that in the previous days she experienced problems in preparation and was surprised by her well-being on the day of the race. The Russian woman also stressed that Beijing has very difficult weather conditions.
“I set myself up to give the maximum, I didn’t think of anything,” said Nepryaeva. The athlete won silver in the skiathlon, losing first place to the Norwegian Teresa Johaug. This medal was the first award for the Russian team at the Games.
For Nepryaeva, this is the first Olympic silver and the second medal at the Games. For the first time, she became a medalist at the Pyeongchang Olympics, winning bronze.
The Beijing Olympics will run until February 20.
