“I haven’t seen anything like this in 42 years.” The judges were confused

“I haven’t seen anything like this in 42 years in a two-horse race” – such voices in the UK for several days are not unusual. In the race between the clear favorite – the horse Golden Sands led by Liam Keniry – and Havana Goldrush and jockey Joe Fanning, the situation was absolutely unheard of, when for almost half an hour after the race it was only possible to announce the winner.

Amazing race in Wolverhampton! The waiting time was 25 minutes

Both horses went head to head practically throughout the race. All the way to the finish line. For moments it seemed that Keniry was slightly ahead of his rival, but on the finish line both horses fell practically simultaneously, which practically does not happen in two-horse races.

The jury in Wolverhampton was confused and it took 25 minutes to determine the winner. It was not only considered which horse reached the finish line minimally first, but also whether there was a foul by one of the players on the way. Ultimately, the winner was Liam Kenira, whose horse was literally faster by the tip of his nose. For the 39-year-old, it was the 1000th victory in his career.

– In my life, I would not expect such a finish in a race of two horses. I don’t know if something like this ever happened – said Keniry. – I’m delighted. It was worth waiting for this verdict.

Keniry and Fanning also met after the race and, as you can see, there were no negative emotions between them.
