Four-time Olympic biathlon champion Alexander Tikhonov criticized Russian athlete Valeria Vasnetsova for complaining about the quality of food in a Beijing quarantine hotel. It is reported by Sport 24.
“I would cut off Vasnetsov’s tongue for such complaints. In 1980, we lived in America like in a prison, and no one complained! And she sits and with her snot raises unrest in the team, ”Tikhonov said.
The athlete also invited the biathlete to understand within the team, and not “whine on the Internet.” According to Tikhonov, Vasnetsova’s behavior spoils the mood of all the other members of the team.
On Feb. 3, Vasnetsova, who is in a quarantine hotel in Beijing due to a positive coronavirus test, showed followers a photo of the food she says she gets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. “I lost a lot of weight, my bones stick out. I cry every day and I want it to end, ”the Russian woman wrote.
The Beijing Olympics will run until February 20. The opening ceremony of the Games will take place on 4 February.
