Athletic beats Eibar and wins the Basque derby

Athletic Club beat Eibar (3-1) in the Basque derby that both teams played in Lezama (Bizkaia) corresponding to the 20th day of the First Iberdrola. The rojiblanco team added its third consecutive victory and remains in the fight for the noble positions of the classification. The armorers have not been able to link their second consecutive victory and are three points above the relegation places.

From the beginning, Athletic was superior and took the lead in the 7th minute thanks to a goal scored by Lucía García (1-0). After that goal, the local team continued to dominate and picked up the prize in the 20th minute with the goal scored by Ane Azkona (2-0).

After scoring two goals, the Bizkaia team headed for victory, but they were not satisfied and put the 3-0 on the scoreboard through Ane Azkona at minute 24; the rojiblanca player scored her second goal in this match.

It seemed that the match was going to go to rest with a three-goal advantage for the local team, but Eibar closed the gap in the 41st minute, thanks to the goal by Kundananji (3-1).

After the break the duel lost intensity. The locals controlled the scoreboard without too much trouble, and could even have increased it in an opportunity by Nekane Díez that was disrupted by Malena, against an Eibar that tried it, although without creating danger in the Biscayan area.
