Mateusz Sochowicz, the best Polish tobogganer, was in the team for the Beijing Winter Olympics, despite having a very serious accident nearly two months ago. On November 8, at the Olympic track in Yanging mg, even died. Due to the error of the track service, the Pole fell into the gate, which should be open until it was closed. – The organization of the pre-Olympic trial is terrible. This error would not happen. Lack of logic and attention –
After the accident, Sochowicz underwent an operation in China to remove a broken kneecap in his left knee. He also had his right leg sewn open, and it was cut so deep (down to the tibia) that at first the injury was considered an open fracture. Sochowicz began to cooperate (daily conversations) with a psychologist, and immediately returned to Poland to undergo rehabilitation.
– I was fucked up! Fools are not afraid. But I trust my skills. I know that I can ride these sleds, and the glide and glide only make me stronger –
Sochowicz is far from training. Best Austrian
Sochowicz also turned out to be the first Polish Olympian who had the opportunity to train in the Olympic arenas in China before the Olympics. On Wednesday, on the toboggan run in Yanging, two trainings took place, in which the Pole, however, took a distant place.
In the first one he was 25, the second was 26. The Austrian Wolfgang Kindl turned out to be the best twice, to whom he lost about two seconds in both training sessions.
The next toboggan training will take place on Thursday. The Olympic competition is scheduled for February 5-6.
