Evenepoel opens its 2022 with victory and leadership in the Valencian Community

Although the cyclist Enrique More (Movistar Team) tried to break the group of favourites, it was the Belgian who left and the Russian Alexander Vlasov (BORA-hansgrohe) who unsuccessfully tried to follow him and hunt him down, entering 16 seconds behind Evenepoel at the finish line, with the Spanish Carlos Rodriguez (INEOS Grenadiers) third at 31 seconds, just ahead of the ‘group’ by Enric Mas or Alexander Valverde (Movistar Team).

This Thursday the second stage takes place, between Bétera and Torrent over 171.5 kilometres. A stage again on irregular terrain, with five mountain passes including La Muela (2nd, with 4.7 kilometers at an average gradient of 4.6 percent), although with a less demanding and descending finish.
