Disclosed the amount of prize-winning Russian biathletes

The amount of prize money for Russian biathletes in the 2021/2022 season has been revealed. The data is provided by Metaratings.

In the men’s team, the 2020 world champion Alexander Loginov became the leader in terms of prize money. For the current season, he earned 69.8 thousand euros. In second place was Eduard Latypov (56.5 thousand euros), in third – Anton Babikov (49.3 thousand euros).

In the women’s team, Kristina Reztsova earned the most. She received 54.5 thousand euros in prize money for the season. Uliana Nigmatullina earned 27.4 thousand, and Evgenia Burtasova – 20.1 thousand euros.

Among all the athletes participating in the competitions of the International Biathlon Union (IBU), the largest prize money was received by the Frenchman Kenten Fillon-Maillet and the Norwegian Marte Ulsby-Røiseland. They earned 138 and 160.6 thousand euros respectively.

In January, Forbes released its annual ranking of the highest paid athletes. Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka topped the list for the second year in a row. The athlete earned more than $57 million, of which she received $55 million through sponsorship contracts and $2.3 million as prize money. The top three also included American tennis players Serena and Venus Williams.
