Forward of the National Hockey League (NHL) Washington Capitals club Lars Eller spoke about the bad habit of team captain Alexander Ovechkin. His words are quoted by The Athletic.
“Every time we get on a plane, he always takes a spicy Italian 30cm sandwich from Subway. Every time he gets on the plane, sits down and starts eating this huge spicy Italian sandwich, ”the hockey player described the habit of a teammate. He added that a menu with the right food was organized for the team on the plane, but Ovechkin always does it his own way.
In the summer of 2020, Washington defender John Carlson spoke about Ovechkin’s strange request during a joint dinner. According to the hockey player, he was surprised that the Russian wanted to season the pasta with ketchup.
Ovechkin has been playing in the NHL since 2005. He helped the Capitals win the Stanley Cup for the first time in club history.
