Ukrainian gymnast accused the Russians of unfair competition

Ukrainian gymnast Anna Rizatdinova, in an interview with the OSTROV YouTube channel, spoke about unfair competition from Russian rivals.

“In our sport, Russia takes first and second place, and five people are fighting for the unfortunate bronze. If Russian women make mistakes, for some reason they get away with it. If any other country makes a mistake, that’s all, what a medal. This is nonsense! – said the athlete. She stressed that the Russians are one of the strongest gymnasts in the world, so they must compete honestly.

Rizatdinova is a bronze medalist at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The 28-year-old athlete also has one gold, two silver and nine bronze medals at the world championships.

In August last year, the President of the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation and the coach of the country’s rhythmic gymnastics team, Irina Deryugina, accused Russia of the failures of Ukrainian athletes. According to her, Russians bribe judges at competitions and prevent Ukrainians from winning medals.
