In the case of the Austrian, all discipline will be lost if she is absent from the Olympic venues. This season, she won as many as six of the ten World Cup competitions held so far. In many of them she was in a class of its own, as in Nizhny Tagil. Kramer first jumped over the local normal hill by as much as 7.5 meters and then won the inaugural World Cup competition with the biggest advantage in history – 41.7 points. She was therefore a favorite for the gold medal.

Now, with several of her rivals showing a much higher level, the competition in Beijing was going to be: Kramer vs. rest of the world. However, the Austrian will not be at the Olympics, in the rivalry of women, but also of the rest of the world, a great void.
