At Mineirão, Brazil faces runner-up Paraguay in the Qualifiers

Brazil faces Paraguay this Tuesday in another round of the South American Qualifiers. The game is scheduled for 21:30 (Brasília time), at the Mineirão stadium, in Belo Horizonte.

The Brazilian team is coming off a 1-1 draw against Ecuador in the last round. Already qualified for the World Cup, the team is at the top of the table, with 36 points, four ahead of Argentina.

The Paraguayans, on the other hand, suffered a defeat to Uruguay in the last round, by 1 to 0. Schelotto’s men still dream of classification, despite occupying the penultimate place, with only 13 points.

In the 8th round, the team led by coach Tite triumphed against Paraguay, at the Defensores del Chaco stadium. On the occasion, Brazil won 2-0, with goals from Neymar and Lucas Paquetá.

For the duel, Tite will not have right-back Emerson Royal, sent off in the last match, with defender Éder Militão, suspended for the accumulation of three yellow cards, and left-back Alex Sandro, who tested positive for covid-19. However, Lucas Paquetá and Fabinho return from suspension and are available to the commander.

Paraguay, in turn, will not have defender Gustavo Gómez, from Palmeiras, who was sent off in the team’s last match.

In a press conference held this Monday, Tite did not reveal the team that will go to the field, but indicated the presence of some young people among the holders.

“When he feels supported and encouraged, and I’m talking about the athlete and the commission, the possibility of performance is better. When he goes to a place that hugs and encourages, he performs better. I look at Juninho and César. You feel confident. to be perfect, but courageous to take the initiative. I’m going to take the social scope. It is a way for the team and these young people, and they will have a lot of young people, to feel confident. May the yellow shirt be responsibility, but trust”, he said.

In addition, the coach preached common sense regarding the Real Madrid athletes, as the Merengues enter the field this Thursday, against Athletic Bilbao, for the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey.

“There is no institutional agreement. There is only common sense, I have the ability to look at calendars. Knowing which day one plays, which day the other plays. Knowing that PSG plays on the 5th, Atlético on the 6th, and Real on the 4th. I have to have common sense, discernment, be understanding. It’s not possible for the guy to play day 1, day 2 and day 4 in the Copa del Rey”, he added.
