The midfielder was from Shenzhen, China, where he played 21 games, scored one goal and provided seven assists. In his first spell at River Plate, Quintero scored 12 times and served his teammates seven times in 60 matches.
On January 14, the player confirmed that he would return to the Argentine team at a press conference. Quintero stressed the interest of other teams, but said he preferred Gallardo’s team.
“There was interest from other teams, but my idea was always to return to River, because it’s my team, it’s my preference. I made the decision to return, because River competes all the time”, he said at the time.
In addition to River and Shenzhen, Quintero also played for Porto, Independiente Medellín, Atlético Nacional, Pescara and Rennes.
