Former Inter defender endorses the signing of Felipe Caicedo as ‘neroazzurro’

Daniele Adani was capped by the Italian national team in 5 matches and a defender for Inter from 2002 to 2004.

Daniele Adani, former Italian soccer player and former Inter Milan central defender, endorsed the signing of the new striker black and blue Philip Caicedo.

Adani, international with the national team in 5 games and Inter defender from 2002 to 2004, gave good references to Caicedo who was signed last week after a negotiation with Genoa, who agreed to loan him until the end of the season (June 30 of 2022).

In interview with The Gazzetta dello Sport reproduced by Tuttomercatoweb, Adani pointed out that Caicedo “in Lazio was the 12th best player in Serie A.”

“He also knows how to work from the edge and with his back to goal, which only (Edin) Dzeko really knows how to do in the current squad,” he added.

During his time as an attacker for Lazio, and under the technical direction of Simone Inzaghi, Caicedo was frequently used as a trigger when entering the change. The referent of the attack was always the Roman artilleryman Ciro Immobile.

The 33-year-old former Ecuadorian international has not been regular in the 2021-2022 campaign of the Italian Serie A wearing the Genoa shirt since he joined that club in August 2021. Inzaghi validated his signing and the board managed the transfer.

A ‘Coppa’ Italia (2018-2019) and two Italian Super Cups (2017-2018 and 2019-2020) were the trophies conquered by Felipao in Lazio, in a stage in which he lacked the great objective of consolidating himself as undisputed in the eleven of Inzaghi.

The footballer born in Guayaquil previously played for Basel, Manchester City, Sporting CP, Málaga, Levante UD, Lokomotiv Moscow, Al-Jazira (United Arab Emirates), RCD Espanyol de Barcelona and Lazio, before moving to Genoa. (D)
