In the Saturday lottery competition, which was managed mainly by a strong wind, the Poles did not manage at all. The best jump this time was Piotr ya (130 m), which finally gave him 14th place, but after the competition the 35-year-old was disqualified. A similar fate befell our second representative, Stefan Hula. The reason for both was the same – shoes that were submitted by the Germans, led by Stefan Horngacher.
The others and Dawid Kubacki took places in the third ten, and Paweł Wąsek did not even qualify for the second series. Ryoyu Kobayashi triumphed, ahead of Halvor Egner Granerud and Marius Lindvik.
Bad weather conditions in Willingen. It’s going to be a lottery contest
Unfortunately, contrary to the original forecasts of weather forecasters, it is also windy on Sunday. Due to strong gusts, the first edition of the jumps has already been canceled. It was supposed to be a women’s prologue, which was scheduled for 9:00. The wind on the Muhlenkopfschanze, like on Saturday, reaches even 8-9 m / s.
At 9.30 am there was a meeting of the competition jury which decided to postpone the scheduled start of the women’s competition from 10.00 am to 10.30 am. However, the conditions on the hill still do not change, so it is doubtful that the ladies’ competition will take place at all. Still, nothing is known about men’s rivalry. Qualifying is set to start at 1.30pm and in this case there is still hope as conditions are expected to improve. The start of the competition itself (15:15) is definitely not threatened at the moment, but unfortunately everything indicates that it may be a lottery again.
