Piero Hincapié started in Bayer Leverkusen’s draw in the Europa League

The Ecuadorian was lined up as a left back against Real Betis, in Seville.

With a good performance by the Ecuadorian Piero Hincapié, Bayer Leverkusen managed to rescue a draw against Real Betis at the Benito Villamarín stadium, for the third day of group G of the Europa League. The technical director, Gerardo Seoane, decided to align the Ecuadorian defender as a left back since he used a line of four in the background to measure himself with the cast trained by Manuel Pellegrini; naturally, Hincapié plays as stopper left in a line of three.

The tricolor international played 76 minutes of the match and was replaced by Mitchel Bakker.

With this result, both teams remain undefeated in the competition and occupy the first place in the table with seven points. However, the Germans are the ones who lead as they have a better goal difference.

After a first part with alternatives, in which the Rheiners sent until the reaction from their Betic Equator, the goals came in the second, with a 1-0 penalty scored by Borja Iglesias, after the judge reviewed the VAR and sanctioned a hand inside the area (74 min), and the tie of Robert Andrich with 8 minutes remaining for Leverkusen, who did not take advantage of two clear occasions to win in the discounts.
