Former president of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Vladimir Drachev criticized the leadership of the national team. His explanation of the situation leads “Championship.com”.
“The SBR didn’t know when they would fly to Beijing? When and which QR codes expire? This is not serious, ”Drachev was indignant. The ex-head of the team called what is happening irresponsible and slovenliness. He expressed hope that the situation would be quickly resolved and the team would reach Beijing in full force.
On January 27, it became known that biathletes Irina Kazakevich and Valery Vasnetsova, head coach of the women’s team Mikhail Shashilov and massage therapist Roman Nikitin were removed from the flight to Beijing due to problems with documents. Kazakevich’s QR code turned out to be “red”, which means a ban on entry into China. The remaining members of the delegation were unable to provide the code from the special annex. Their flight was delayed by a day.
Biathlon competitions at the Olympics will be held from 5 to 19 February. Athletes will compete for 11 sets of awards.
