Senior coach of the Russian national snowboard team Denis Salagaev shared his expectations from the Olympic Games in Beijing. His words are quoted by Metaratings.
“Hotel – track – hotel, only such a schedule awaits us. Everything is tough: we are waiting for conditions close to prison, ”Salagaev cited the comparison. He noted that a very strict covid protocol will operate at the Games. According to it, it is mandatory to wear masks everywhere, and contact with representatives of other delegations is prohibited.
Salagaev complained that due to strict restrictions, the Olympic atmosphere is being lost. “I definitely don’t have the feeling that the Olympics are waiting for us, although it has always been a great holiday for athletes of all countries. Everything will converge to one thing: you are lucky not to fly out because of the tests or you are not lucky, ”the coach shared.
On January 25, it became known that figure skater Mikhail Kolyada will miss the Olympic Games due to illness. He has tested positive for COVID-19. The participation in the Games of bobsledders Alexei Pushkarev and Vasily Kondratenko, skeletonist Nikita Tregubov and hockey player Artem Anisimov is questionable. Their tests also came back positive.
