Hego Euskal Herria created 45,500 jobs during 2021

Unemployment has decreased in Hego Euskal Herria during 2021. According to the Active Population Survey (EPA) published this Thursday, the Basque Country is the territory with the least unemployment in the Spanish State, while Navarra is the third.

Basque Country I believe 36,900 jobs (an increase of 4.01% compared to 2020) until reaching a population occupied of 957 000, while Navarra counts 287,900 people employed, which represents an increase of 3.4% compared to the previous year, 9500 more.

In the Foral Community, meanwhile, last year the number of unemployed fell by 5,000 people, 13.49%, leaving a total of 31,800 unemployed. Thus, the unemployment rate stood at in the last quarter of the year in 9,93 %, the third lowest in the quarter behind the CAV and Aragón.

At joint of the Spanish State, the labor market generated 840,700 jobs during 2021, the highest job creation recorded since 2005 and a figure that brings the total number of employed in Spain to almost 20.2 million, the highest level in thirteen years.

According to the Active Population Survey (EPA), published this Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), unemployment fell by 615,900 people in the last twelve months, the largest cut since mid-2017, until closing in the 3 .1 million unemployed and cut the unemployment rate to 13.33%, the lowest since 2008.

This increase in employment higher than the decrease in unemployment has been made possible by the increase in the active population, with 224,700 people who have come out of inactivity during 2021, leaving the activity rate at 58.65% of the total population.
