On Thursday, Liverpool beat Arsenal 2-0 away from home, with two goals from Diogo Jota, and qualified for the final of the League Cup. In a press conference, coach Jurgen Klopp praised the departure of the Brazilian Fabinho, summoned by Tite to defend the Brazilian team in the next round of the Qualifiers.
“He was spectacular yesterday, the number of balls he stole, how he defended, how he played, in the areas where he appeared, it was really a good game, I have to admit, it was good to see that”, said the German.
Klopp also recalled that Fabinho recently recovered from covid and needed some time to get back to high level.
“I no longer fear that Fabinho who came back from covid and everyone thought he would come back as soon as he was. I think everyone needs a little time, that’s an observation we have to make. Even when you don’t have symptoms it’s not simple, seven days out, no symptoms, he’s back. It’s not exactly the same,” he said.
Liverpool return to the field next Sunday, at 11 am (GMT), against Crystal Palace, away from home, for the English Championship. For the national team, Fabinho will have commitments against Ecuador on the 27th and Paraguay on the 1st of February.
