According to Shashilov, the reasons for the mistakes of Russian women lie in psychological and emotional problems. At the same time, he added that biathletes are progressing with each race.
On January 13, information appeared that the board of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) may raise the issue of Shashilov’s dismissal due to increased cases of violations of the regime. Later, RBU board member Ivan Cherezov said that there was no such issue on the agenda of the meeting.
