Declassification. Polish handball players crushed by the Norwegians. Record defeat

The beginning of the tournament was excellent for the white and reds. It started with a win with Austria 36:31, and then with Belarus 29:20. It was only in the third round that the Germans turned out to be better than Patryk Rombl’s team, winning 30:23. In the second round, the Poles faced another difficult challenge, i.e. the clash with Norway. This is a team that won the world vice-championship in 2017 and 2019, and two years ago, the bronze medal of the European championship.

The beginning of the meeting was even. They started with a two-goal lead, but lost it quickly. The even fight lasted a few minutes, to the score of 6: 6. Then as if someone disconnected the plug. The Polish team started making a lot of mistakes in the game, and the Norwegians ruthlessly used it. The Poles had colossal problems in the position attack. Only Sićko did not disappoint in the Polish team, who scored most of the goals, bombed Norway’s goal from a distance and generally did his best, but his friends did not help him. Arkadiusz Moryto, who was one hundred percent effective with.

The other players did not pose a threat to the Norwegian goal. In turn, on the other side, there was, among others, Sagosen, Barthold also had good games. Even when the Poles managed to score a goal, the Norwegians immediately attacked and responded within seconds. Kornecki was practically helpless. Until the end of the first half, the Poles’ game did not improve and, as a result, the players of Partyek Rombla were leaving for the break, losing 15:21.

The defeat of Poles with Norway at the European Championship in handball. Declassification after the break

Unfortunately, if someone was counting on a revival of Poles in the second half, they were severely disappointed. Poland’s game crumbled even more. The Norwegian advantage grew at an alarming rate. After 10 minutes, the Norwegians were already in the lead with 10 goals, and then that advantage grew even more. The Poles were unable to break through the Norwegian defense, although at some point they started playing without a goalkeeper. But that didn’t help either. Even when the shot was successful, there was a Norwegian goalkeeper at the post. And the Norwegians started having fun in the attack and took a big slack. With a quarter of an hour before the end it was already known who would come out victorious in this clash. The Norwegians exchanged the entire line-up and played their own, not allowing themselves a moment of weakness. Eventually, the Poles were smashed 31:42. No team has so far lost so many goals in a single match at this tournament.

The defeat with Norway greatly complicated the situation of Poles in the group. Currently, the white and reds are in the last place with 0 points. Poles do not have time to brood over this defeat, because they will play against Sweden on Friday. This meeting starts at 18.00
