Jordy Caicedo, the best foreigner in the Bulgarian league

The Ecuadorian led the vote of local journalists, who chose the highlights of the 2020-2021 season, between Bulgarian and foreign players.

The Ecuadorian Jordy Caicedo was highlighted as the best foreigner in the Bulgarian League, distinction he shares with a fellow CSKA Sofia, the Dutch defender Jurgen Matheij.

The election was in charge of 112 sports journalists, as representatives of 41 media, who completed the podium of the three best foreigners with Irish midfielder Graham Kerry.

The Ecuadorian was on the payroll for another distinction, that of best striker, an election that was won by the Bulgarian Martin Kamburov (Beroe Stara Zagora).

It is very gratifying to know that all the work is paying off to continue as the best foreigner in the league. It pushes me to continue working and making an effort”, commented the tricolor gunner, who has played 30 games and scored 17 goals in the 2021-2022 season.

“I want to thank my family, especially CSKA and its fans for all the love, and my teammates, because without their help this would not have been possible, I’m going for 2022″, highlighted the Machaleño striker.

“The announcement of the results was made online and the award, which recognizes the strongest legionnaires in the championship, it was for two CSKA players. The dutch Jurgen Matheij and Ecuadorian Jordy Caicedo shared the lead with the same number of points (39), and they were joined by the Irish attacking midfielder Graham Kerry”, the Bulgarian club highlighted on its website.

In the vote, CSKA captain Matheji won in two other categories, best defender and best goal of the year, with an annotation “of more than 40 meters, which earned him the victory in the match against CSKA 1948, on November 8”, highlighted the club. (D)
