Pele needed chemotherapy

Former Brazilian footballer and three-time world champion Pelé is back in a hospital in Sao Paulo. It is reported by ESPN.

The 81-year-old football star needs to undergo chemotherapy. According to ESPN, hospitalization was planned in advance. Pelé must continue the treatment he has been undergoing in the last months of 2021.

Pele will stay in the hospital for a few days. Doctors need to determine the presence of metastases in the body of a veteran.

In September 2021, Pele underwent surgery to remove a tumor in his colon. In December of the same year, the ex-forward of the Brazilian national team was hospitalized.

Pele is known for his performances for the Brazilian “Santos” and “New York Cosmos” from the USA. As part of the Brazilian national team, the striker won the World Cup three times. He was recognized as the player of the century by the International Football Federation (FIFA).
